PORTFOLIOS

My interests in photography took hold on a trip to Ecuador when I found that I wanted to share the amazing ecosystems I was seeing with friends and family. This spawned into a mission to engage people by producing thought provoking images that inspire conversation and conservation. To this end, I largely focus on the small and overlooked (i.e., herpetofauna, insects), although I take photographic opportunities whenever they present themselves.

I started out shooting with a Pentax K10D, but have since moved onto a Canon 7D for the improved macro (and super-macro) capabilities that Canon has over Pentax. I'm quite happy with the move and look forward to expanding my Canon equipment. Currently, I shoot with a Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5X Macro Lens, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX, and Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flashes.

On this site and in the other portfolios, I have chosen some of my favorite images, but this does not represent the entirety of my work. I would suggest visiting my Flickr page for a greater variety of images. You can follow my Facebook page for more up to date projects and happenings for my photography.

My photography is available for sale through various stock agencies like Getty Images, Nature in Stock, and Nature Picture Library.  Not all of my photos are licensed through these agencies, and I have a number for sale on my personal store. If there are images you would like to purchase or license that is not currently available, feel free to email me about it.
